It’s funny how things work out. Since Opryland’s demise, Dollywood has exploded and amusement has become a key part of Tennessee’s tourism strategy and economy. If Opryland was still in Nashville I guarantee it would be regarded as one of the best in the country, benefiting from Nashville’s exploding population.

I believe there was a roller coaster in Jacksonville Beach, FL called the Beach Coaster. It opened in the late 40’s and closed in the 50’s.

LOT of hype around the Beast - rode it once, was not the most comfortable ride and its "long" ride time was significantly inflated by its extremely slow lift hill. Quite a few jarring moments that made it a one-and-done ride. Cool ride but glad we didn't invest that much time into waiting.

Now that they are on the brink of legalizing LSD, I can only imagine the new parks.... hahahahahah This should be good. Society is seriously doomed.

Blobbyland Morecambe did reopen as a play area. I remember taking my children my son was about 1 so would have been 2002. Think we paid £2.50 for each child to go in the play area. They liked the swing boat's.

I reckon, a ride with intractable elements of a functioning bridge i.e. the various consoles could make for an incredible Star Trek experience. I was thinking, why not make a real Kobayashi Maru sim ride. Essentially, a video game but with screen accurate functioning consoles. The helm console, Captain's chair, Comms, Ops, and Weapons. All of them on an aircraft sim rig. I know that the VR game exists, but this would be real and could feel real with the simulator.

Honestly it would be really cool to be able to see it one last time for the sheer artistry and religious imagery. Some talented people worked on all this stuff. And while im not particularly religious myself, im a sucker for models, replicas and imagery steeped in history and cultural significance

I can see why they chose to go with the same theme as the dragon to tie into thunder run. The best part of that coaster. Miss the path up to the top of the mountain thought.

I am from Germany, and in the Heide Park is a 1 to 1 Copy of Rita (called Dessert Race ) and it has the same Problem.

This reminded me of the Titan submersible. An owner who disregarded safety because he was being innovative and of course he was greedy with too much ego.

Ummm to me this seemed like a theme park. I dont care what they say. They were begging for donations and begging people to come and pay for the tickets. Yeah no wonder a lot of the churches had a problem with this place. It was a good idea just handled the wrong way.

I don't know much about the guys who made and ran this park but building theme parks and attractions based upon religion or creationism often seem to be a good way for pastors to make money without paying tax. Yes Ken Ham I'm looking at you and your Ark Encounter.
